Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
No. We provide premium rods, reels, lines, leaders, tippet, and all flies for the day at no extra charge. Bring your own if you prefer, but it’s not necessary.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes. Clients are responsible for purchasing a valid Montana Conservation License and Fishing License before the trip. Non-resident licenses run $20–$40 and are available at fwp.mt.gov. Jason will walk you through the process when you book.
I've never fly fished. Can I still book?
Absolutely — some of Jason’s best days are with first-timers. He’ll cover casting basics, reading water, and everything else. No experience required.
What if the weather is bad?
We fish rain or shine — overcast days often produce the best hatches. If conditions become genuinely dangerous (lightning, severe flooding), we’ll reschedule or refund your deposit.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible. Spring Skwala season and summer hatch windows book months out. If you have dates in mind, reach out now.
What is your cancellation policy?
A 50% deposit holds your date. Cancellations more than 14 days out receive a full refund. Cancellations within 14 days forfeit the deposit unless we can fill the date. Weather/safety cancellations at Jason’s discretion receive a full refund or complimentary reschedule.
How many anglers per boat?
Standard trips are 1–2 anglers per boat. Groups of 3+ can be accommodated with additional guide arrangements — contact us for group pricing.
Is lunch included?
Yes. Full-day trips include a streamside lunch with beverages. Half-day trips include snacks and drinks. Dietary restrictions are always accommodated — just let us know.
